If you're a Duke Basketball fan you know Forward Ryan Young (and maybe even have a little crush?). Plus, you've likely been tuning in to his popular Duke Hoops podcast, The Brotherhood. This Fuqua grad student is sure to make headlines in years to come. We got the lowdown from him:
What’s your favorite breakfast? Do you drink coffee? How many cups?
I love going out to a good brunch, most days I’ll make myself eggs or a bagel. Being from Jersey, a bagel for breakfast was a staple. I actually don’t drink coffee, I fear I may start once I start working.
If you had to chose between Tesla’s Cybertruck or walking, what would it be?
Walking, easily. I love to walk places, putting my AirPods in and walking is one of my favorite things to do, I find it therapeutic.
Who’s your hero?
I’m a huge Lebron James fan, love him as a player, but what he’s done off the court has been incredibly impressive. He’s motivated and sets a great example for my generation of athletes by doing so much outside of competing.
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one teammate, who would you want it to be and why?
TJ Power. I think TJ was a boy scout, or at least he definitely goes camping pretty often. I don’t know the first thing about starting a fire or surviving outside. I can’t think of another teammate that would give me a better chance at survival.
What’s your top stock pick for 2024?
I haven’t spent much time analyzing stocks, so I will go with Nike. They’re one of my favorite brands. Northwestern wasn’t a Nike school, so coming to Duke for two years and getting to wear Nike everything was awesome!
Who is your celebrity crush?
Aubrey Plaza, I was a huge Parks and Rec fan. But overall, I think she’s a great actress and a super cool personality.
