Multi-instrumentalist, singer and activist, Joe Troop, is performing at The Fruit all month. He jump starts April for us:

How would you describe yourself with one adjective? Inquisitive.

What’s your go-to mind-altering substance? Banjo.

Can you skateboard? Haha! No. But I always thought skaters were kinda hot.

If you were holed up in a bomb shelter for awhile, what one instrument would you want with you? Banjo.

Do you have a literal or figurative nemesis? Yes, the American (US) music industry.

What’s in your emergency kit? Coffee, soda water, my instruments, a sleeping bag, avocados, chiltepe sauce, salt and pepper, wheat crackers, tomatoes, aged cheese and a few books. I could ride it out a couple months with just that.

Favorite bar in Durham? The Fruit!!!

If you could, what cartoon character would you take with you on a road trip? Stimpy.

If you had a chance to make a country what would you name it? Tammy.

What’s love? Sharing what you have with others and defusing your own individualism.
