Looking for new tunes? Start July with the catchy beats/rhymes of Austin Avery, aka Lil Cheetah.

What is something you believe is true but you can’t prove? I believe everything happens for a reason & I believe there is a cosmic imbalance & I believe in heaven.

Which instrument has the funniest sound? Its not an instrument per say, but the human voice is sometimes I love to hear experimentation with. There’s such a wide range. But to go with the the theme of the question probably the vibraphone because its like a xylophone but with fans. Or a bagpipe if you’re trying to create a weird, funeral-like vibe.

If you could meet anyone in the world today, who would it be? I would love to sit down with Kanye & pick his brain about why he thinks the way he does. I really love hearing about what other creatives have to say about how they view the world. I would also love to have dinner with Virgil Abloh (RIP). His perspective was so refreshing & inspiring to the youth. I’m always interested in how people keep their spirits young into adulthood.

What are those things you’re too old to do but you still enjoy? I love to pretend. Its so good for the imagination. When I was a kid I’d play outside & be different characters. I wish that as we got older we held imagination at a higher regard. Sometimes disassociating & creating is a fun way to tap into your spirit, especially when you’re in a group setting. I love that.

What gives you the creeps? Its so funny that you ask this question, because recently anything that makes me feel some type of way I have been saying “thats creepy.” Like if someone is tailgating me, or if I am mildly inconvenienced, I say “that’s so creepy.” But thinking about floating in the ocean, imagining all the creatures & life living & breathing below me absolutely gives me the creeps.

If you were given the chance to make one wish come true, what would it be? Ok, If I met a genie I would ask for more wishes because I definitely have a list.

But I wish we could all be still. See from each others’ shoes & listen. Even from polar opposites I’ve learned so much from listening. I’d wish that everyone would be good listeners. But maybe that could be dangerous after all… so maybe not.

What period would you travel to if you were given a time machine? I LOVE dinosaurs and I want to see something so big in real life. Like the biggest animal i’ve seen in person is a horse & I want to see a stegosaurus in person. Thats like 2 school buses. I’d also like to travel to 1965 and see how things progress through the 70s, 80s, & 90’s. I love history & I’d like to see how the human atmosphere progressed to where we are now because there was so much innovation in so many contexts during those periods.

What’s the food you usually refuse to share? I love to share, but a little more hesitant when it comes to Buffalo wings.

Favorite fashion designer? Locally I love Laboosh! I wanna wear their stuff everyday. The fonts are crazy & I love the raw style they implement. The sizes of their shirts & jeans. I rock with the vision. They know what they’re doing. The influence of James Jebbia the founder of Supreme, Virgil Abloh as I mentioned, Denma of Balenciaga & the creator of Vetements, Jerry Lorenzo. They really curate a baggy classy fit that I like. Its chameleon wear.

What's love? Wow this is a tough one. Love is unconditional & Truthful & intimate. There are many different kinds of love. But in each way there are consistencies. Love is painful & kind & dimensional. But thats a deep, deep question; I might need a few more years to answer it wholly.
